Metal and hard rock records

Heavy metal is usually traced back to Birmingham, where Black Sabbath formed in 1968 and slowed blues rock down into something much heavier. From there it grew through the New Wave of British Heavy Metal in the late 1970s and early 80s to the global scale of Metallica, while hard rock bands like AC/DC and Guns N' Roses filled the same arenas and the same racks. New metal albums often come in several limited vinyl colours at once. Among the shops on soundsfound, Crash Records in Leeds specialises in metal, and Bear Tree in Sheffield stocks metal and doom.
