Hip-hop records

Hip-hop on vinyl goes back to the music's start, with DJs cutting up records in 1970s New York, and it's still one of the formats the genre cares about most. This page covers the American catalogue, from Public Enemy and JAY-Z to Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Tyler, the Creator, and the UK's own scene. Little Simz from north London won the Mercury Prize in 2022 for Sometimes I Might Be Introvert, and Stormzy's Gang Signs & Prayer became the first grime album to top the UK albums chart in 2017. Some hip-hop pressings go out of print quickly, so it's worth checking several shops. Search the artists below and buy direct from the shop.
