Sister Ray is an independent record shop on Berwick Street in Soho, London, named after the Velvet Underground song. Neil Brown started it in 1989, taking over 94 Berwick Street after selling vinyl from a market stall in Camden, at a time when the street was full of record shops. In 2003 Sister Ray merged with Selectadisc at 34 Berwick Street, and it later moved across the road to its current home at number 75. It's the street on the cover of Oasis' (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, with Selectadisc on the left and today's Sister Ray on the right. The shop has been a big backer of Record Store Day, sells new releases and pre-orders, and buys second-hand vinyl.
