Banquet Records is an independent record shop on Eden Street in Kingston upon Thames, on the edge of south-west London. It took its current shape in 2005, when the team took over the struggling shop that had been part of the Beggars Banquet chain. Banquet sells new copies only, on vinyl, CD and cassette, and leans towards indie, punk, emo and modern dance music, with soundtracks and reissues alongside. It's a gig promoter as much as a shop, putting on hundreds of events a year around Kingston, from in-stores for a dozen people to touring bands at local venues, and it runs its own label and a big mail order operation.
